Top Producer Conference
Passport to Paradise

From February 25 to March 1, 2009, SII’s Top Producers gathered at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Qualifiers enjoyed elaborate accommodations and experienced the Puerto Rican culture through authentic food and native dancing. Learning opportunities included numerous product sponsor breakout sessions, advice for success in an adverse economy, and innovative paper-free processing.



2009 Administrative Assistant Workshop
Plant the Seeds of Knowledge

The Hotel Sierra and KI Convention Center in Green Bay, WI served as the location for the 2009 Administrative Assistant Workshop, allowing over 100 Administrative Assistants and Registered Representatives a chance to learn more about the broker/dealer services and technology available through SII, and how to use them in their day-to-day activities. Intense training and Q&A sessions proved valuable as attendees interacted and shared strategies for approaching their job responsibilities. In addition to the various learning opportunities, four Administrative Assistants were recognized among their peers for demonstrated leadership and outstanding achievements.



In the spring of 2009, clients of SII advisors were introduced to the option of receiving Pershing statements and trade confirmations electronically. Benefits of this paperless initiative include improved safety and security, instant access to documentation, centralized recordkeeping, convenience and flexibility, and of course, an environmentally friendly approach to receiving notifications. A number of registered representatives have assisted in converting their clients to paperless processing, and have experienced positive results.



SIIonline Email Becomes Compatible with Apple iPhone

Through the efforts of SII’s Compliance Department and Technology Support Team, in the summer of 2009, representatives were given the ability to send and receive emails through their SIIonline email account on their iPhone. Considered by many to the most advanced, intuitive smart phone currently on the market, this new mobile resource pairing is yet another example of SII’s ongoing commitment to offering innovative, practical and powerful technology to its financial representatives.



2009 National Conference
The Sky’s the Limit

Open to SII Representatives and Registered Assistants, the 2009 National Conference afforded participants the opportunity to earn firm element Continuing Education (CE) credits and satisfy the annual face-to-face compliance requirement. The Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago served as the location for this informative event, and a towering agenda was built to help representatives take their practice to new heights and send success soaring. A packed schedule of speeches and receptions filled the August 5-7 conference dates, and the successful event solidified SII’s valued partnership with its financial advisors.



SHARE SII Advisory Council

In late 2009, SII introduced a strategic initiative to further enhance the broker/dealer relationship with its financial advisors and bring greater efficiency to the way we interact. SHARE (SII Hears And Remains Engaged) was established to focus communication between a select group (15 individuals) representing some of our most valued clients (our representatives and their staff) and SII Senior Management on operational, procedural, and tactical items. Members of the council meet bi-monthly, and are asked to share open feedback with no reservations in an effort to collectively improve the way everyone works together.



2009 Jingle Bell Run/Walk

SII Home Office employees tied up their running shoes and participated in the 2009 Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk for Arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation is the leading health organization addressing the needs of some 46 million Americans living with arthritis, of the nation’s leading causes of disability. The Run/Walk officially began at 9:00 a.m. on November 7, 2009. Eleven teams participated on the beautiful fall morning and enjoyed a silent auction and refreshments after the race.




2010 Top Producer Conference
Some Like it Hot!

SII rewarded its Top Producers with a top-notch conference at the beautiful JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona from April 28 to May 1. In addition to enjoying some well-deserved relaxation and the warm weather, registered representatives acquired knowledge pertaining to overcoming regulatory challenges, new approaches to practice management and tips for working efficiently with SII’s brokerage and advisory platforms. Conference activities also included golfing, an array of tasty southwest dishes, and nightly receptions filled with music and dancing.



WealthONE® Platform Offers Multiple Solutions

SII introduced the WealthONE® advisory platform in May of 2010. The program is a powerful blend of state-of-the-art investment technology, trusted resources and user-friendly tools developed to help you efficiently address your clients’ investment needs. WealthONE® is designed to provide world-class financial technology to effectively manage self-built models, unprecedented access to carefully chosen strategists and asset management firms, and an array of customizable,
fee-based services.



Go Green  Initiative Introduced

In June 2010, SII introduced the “Go Green” initiative to its representatives. By integrating with EOE, the program allowed clients to start receiving materials through eDelivery which simplified electronic filing, eliminated duplicate mailings, and positively impacted the environment. The continued implementation of this initiative saves, on average, 3 million sheets of
paper per year.



2010 Administrative Assistant Workshop
Run the Table

The 2010 Administrative Assistant Workshop took place at the Radisson Hotel in Green Bay, WI from June 22-24, 2010. The theme, Run the Table, was inspired by the opportunities to win organizational skills and deal out new efficiencies in every office. Over 100 Administrative Assistants and Registered Representatives took part in hands-on training to learn more about the services and technology available through SII. Attendees were also provided with the annual handbook complete with presentation slides, FAQs, and additional informational materials to bring back to their offices to use as a reference and/or training manual.



2010 National Conference
Set Your Course

In response to the demand for fee-based solutions, the 2010 National Conference included a special Investment Advisory Regional Meeting on August 4, including a robust line up of speakers and in-depth overview of available advisory products and services. The National Conference then continued through the 6th of August at the Wyndham in Chicago, and included 100 Representatives and 98 Product Sponsors from 47 different companies. Topics of discussion included due diligence, practice growth, industry regulation and advisor best practices.



Victory Lane Consulting

An innovative practice management program, Victory Lane Consulting, was introduced in Fall 2010 to assist financial advisors in leveraging their business, time and energy to achieve maximum professional and personal potential. Comprised of both internal consulting resources and external coaching services, the program helps identify the most impactful opportunities and create action plans in the areas of: Business Planning, Staffing & Workflow, Marketing, Time Management, Business Succession, Technology Solutions, and Product Mix.



Rep Dashboard

SII announced its plans for an initiative aimed at providing our registered representatives with a consistent user experience and easy logical flow for our technology offerings. Encompassing existing systems such as EOE and the SII website, the platform will provide an infrastructure for storing and publishing documents, accessing reports, and utilizing analysis and trending tools.



SII Public Website Updated

On December 6, 2010, SII launched its new and improved public website! Featuring a sleek, clean look, the site provides an intuitive navigation structure and enhanced interactive tools to improve the experience for all visitors and prospective representatives. 2011 Top Producer Conference
Uncover Your Potential

Qualifying representatives found the secrets for success and joined to honor the top representatives March 2-6, 2011. With breathtaking views of the ocean around every corner, it is no wonder the Ritz-Carlton, Cancun afforded our dedicated Representatives some well-deserved R&R. Attendees took part in a relaxing pool-side welcome reception, a masquerade ball, and plenty of dynamic presentations – all leading up to an extravagant beach party with a picnic-style buffet and live music.



SII Support Tracking System

In the second quarter of 2011, SII rolled out an innovative issue tracking software called the Support Tracking System (STS). STS combines an integrated contact management tool and the ability to enter and track work orders/service requests, in order to provide consistent, proactive service and support to your office. Benefits of the tool include, but are not limited to, reducing response and resolution times, providing a comprehensive history of any entered issues for use in the future, challenging and improving upon our existing standards of service, creating a department-wide transparency of issues, and increased accountability among SII staff.



2011 Inaugural WealthONE® Conference

Registered Representatives had two opportunities to attend SII’s Inaugural WealthONE® Asset Management Solutions Conference this year. Hosted at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas June 9-10 and the Sofitel/Chicago Water Tower June 16-17, these meetings provided our financial advisors with the education to equip, empower, and prepare them to make informed decisions for their clients. Attendees also enjoyed a reception sponsored by our strategists, in depth training on the Advisor Solutions platform, and peer panel discussions featuring advice from the pros.




Flood Relief Cookout

In the summer of 2011, SII hosted a cookout to raise money for associates from our sister broker/dealer, Investment Centers of America (ICA), who were adversely effected by flooding in Bismarck, ND. SII Home Office associates joined together to contribute to the cause, while enjoying a warm Wisconsin summer day.



Jackson Celebrates 50th Anniversary

In August 2011, Jackson National Life Insurance Company® celebrated 50 years of success in the financial industry. SII, as part of the NPH broker-dealer network, is an affiliate of Jackson National Life Insurance Company®. Celebrations included allowing associates to wear jeans to work for an entire month, quizzes, give-a-ways, and story sharing, and a cake and ice
cream party.




2011 National Conference
Building Sustainable Growth

Presented August 10-12 in sunny Las Vegas, NV, the choice of this national conference location epitomized the theme “Building Sustainable Growth”. Attendees eluded the hundred degree weather outside by attending numerous breakout and general sessions inside Encore, part of the Wynn Las Vegas. An optional Business Development Meeting was included with the conference to cover topics such as personal coaching, marketing, WealthONE®, and modifying client behavior.



2011 Network of Women Conference

NPH expanded their educational lineup in 2011 to include the first annual women’s conference, Network of Women. The meeting, held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel (Santa Monica, CA) from September 21-23, addressed specific challenges facing women in the financial services industry, and provided ideas and solutions to help overcome those challenges. The event featured business-building ideas through client attraction and retention, networking and mentoring opportunities, and practice management ideas and advice. The conference provided a unique opportunity for women advisors to share best practices with their peers and interact with motivational and industry experts on a variety of relevant topics.



2011 Administrative Assistant Workshop
Brewing Strong Skills

For the first time ever, SII Investments partnered with Investment Centers of America (ICA) to host the Administrative Assistant Workshop. New faces were mixed with familiar spaces with a return to the Radisson Hotel in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The conference, hosted from October 25-27, gave assistants the opportunity to earn firm continuing education credits and share ideas regarding client experience, office procedures, and market niches/branding. Events included an awards dinner, Halloween costume party, and plenty of stimulating presentations.



Holiday Giving

SII Home Office staff purchased gifts for families in need during the 2011 Holiday season. Participants chose an ornament off the office tree which listed the age, gender, and interests of a child or adult needing assistance during the holidays, and brought in a fitting gift for donation. The gifts were then brought to the Appleton Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family location for distribution. To add to the holiday spirit, associates also dressed up in “Ugly Holiday Sweaters” for a day at the office.




SII Introduces “Years of Service” Recognition Program

In January 2012, SII announced the debut of the Years of Service Rewards program. As a symbol of gratitude for the ongoing commitment and dedication of our registered representatives, items of recognition are issued to our reps based on their service anniversary. We proudly acknowledge the partnership we share with our representatives and our ongoing collective devotion to SII’s core principles of service, innovation and integrity.



2012 Top Producer Conference
On Track to Triumph

Attendees gathered at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island for the 2012 Top Producer Conference April 25-29, 2012 to gain knowledge about current products and hot topics in the financial services industry, meet educational requirements, and network with their peers and wholesalers. The event, On Track to Triumph, show cased a Kentucky Derby theme, oceanfront celebrations, and opportunities to hear from an array of speakers. Learning sessions covered topics including, but not limited to, Social Media, Staffing, Information Security and Portfolio Management.



Summit Service Team

As we look for additional ways to support the businesses of our top producing representatives with technology and process efficiencies, we find the collective experience of our dedicated Home Office associates remains our greatest asset. Therefore, we launched a new, exclusive support deliverable to qualifying representatives in 2012. Representatives who reached more than one million dollars in Gross Dealer Concessions (GDC) for the 2011 calendar year were invited to utilize the support of SII’s new Summit Service Team. This invitation entitles the recipient to priority access to our most experienced staff and priority processing in our Brokerage Services, New Account Services and Advertising Review departments. In order to assure prompt service from service team members, we also created an email address, phone number, and fax correspondence specific to top qualifiers. The service is intended to increase the time reps have to focus on their client relationships and grow their investment practice.



2012 Summer Networking Event

SII Investments, Inc. invited all Wisconsin representatives to a unique networking event created to spark interactions with a group of bright product partners, while embracing the essence of early summer in the Midwest. Representatives, wholesalers, and home office associates in attendance enjoyed a warm, sunny day filled with good conversation, food, and baseball. The large gathering took place at Miller Park on July 7, where the Milwaukee Brewers won a rousing game against the Chicago Cubs.



SII Office Expansion

Due to the growing businesses of our registered representatives and the necessity for additional SII Home Office staff, SII expanded their Appleton, WI facilities in the Summer of 2012 to accommodate the growing work force. The new office includes an additional 4,600 square feet to allow for better alignment of departments and more room for new hires at the neighboring office. The new space, which also includes two additional conference rooms, will accommodate future growth for several years to come.



FaithONE Introduces Socially Responsible, Faith-Based
Investment Portfolios

In the third quarter of 2012, SII announced FaithONE, a set of six faith-based portfolios available through the WealthONE® platform. These FaithONE portfolios employ a rigorous screening process ensuring clients are only invested in companies whose activities align with their values and beliefs. Each FaithONE asset allocation portfolio has undergone a thorough social screening process that exclude stocks related to production and/or sale of military weapons, tobacco or alcohol products, gambling activities and other sectors not in-line with traditional faith-based beliefs.



SII Associate Jeans Day Donations Benefit Make-A-Wish
Foundation®

SII Home Office Associates participated in a Jeans Day fundraiser in support of Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin, a foundation granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With a matching donation from JacksonSM, SII raised nearly $10,000 to help make wishes come true for two special children, Megan, a 12-year-old girl diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia who wished to visit a horse ranch, and Jordan, a 13-year-old boy diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma who wished for a camper so he could enjoy quality time with his family and friends up north.



Appreciation Event Makes a Splash!

SII hosted its employee celebration event on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at The Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Wisconsin Dells is considered “The Waterpark Capital of the World!”. SII employees and their immediate family members received an overnight stay at the Kalahari Resort. Included in their stay was access to the indoor and outdoor water parks, access to the indoor theme park, dinner and drinks. Wisconsin Dells was a great place to show our employees how much they are appreciated for their hard work, dedication, and service they provide to our customers.



SII Participates in Make-A-Wish Walk & Run for Wishes

Due to the SII’s 2012 donation, Make-A-Wish of the Fox Valley presented SII with a complementary Gold Star Team sponsorship status in the Walk & Run for Wishes event on September 8, 2012. As a Gold Star Team, SII received special recognition during the event and had its logo appear on the Make-A-Wish T-shirts that are given out to all the participants, along with the SII logo appearing on the Make-A-Wish web site and signage at the event. Walk & Run for Wishes team SII had 58 members participate for the event and raised an additional $350.00 for Make-A-Wish Fox Valley. Team SII was also recognized for having the largest team at the event. We are very proud of the SII employees who took time out of their busy weekends to participate in the Make-A-Wishes Walk and Run for Wishes Event. They truly represent why SII is such a great place to work.



Karaoke for a Cause

SII Management exercised their vocal chords to take part in the 2012 Karaoke for a Cause at the Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center in Neenah, WI. The event was held on October 18, 2012 and brought together over 15 companies for a night of fun and song. All proceeds benefited the United Way Fox Cities.




Give Blood. Give Life.

SII hosted its 2nd Annual Community Blood Drive in October 2012 drawing over 50 donors. Associates were divided into teams to add some friendly competition to the event, and the winning team walked away with a prize of delicious caramel apples. All registered donors received a Jeans Day for their charitable efforts.



2013 Top Producer Conference
Celebrating 45 Years of a Strong Foundation and a Shared Vision

SII celebrated 45 years of success at the 2013 Top Producer Conference held at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Great Lakes March 13-17. Qualifiers enjoyed an exceptional mix of educational workshops, networking opportunities, and entertaining social events while being recognized for their accomplishments in the financial services industry. The event included a commencement-themed award night and Caddyshack-themed farewell reception, and a lot of fun for all who participated!



SII Summer Picnic was a Hit!

SII employees and their immediate family members received a day at the Ball Park for our company summer picnic. Each SII employee was awarded a ticket to the Timber Rattlers home game at the Time Warner Cable Stadium on June 9th, 2013 to honor their continued service and dedication to the company. Seats were located on the Home Run Patio and included a buffet style lunch of hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, cookies, and beverages. Employees spent the afternoon enjoying the Timber Rattlers’ newly renovated ball park, complete with a large sand box off the home run deck, inflatables, and playground for the kids, and watched the Rattlers win the game 11 to 9.



SII Brewer Game Networking Event

Wisconsin SII representatives, prosepective representatives, home office personnel, and many of our product partners joined together Thursday, June 27th to watch the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park. The event was a relaxing and fun platform for strengthening and growing our current network of representatives while enjoying a warm, summer day of Wisconsin baseball.



2013 National Conference
Keys to Success

For the third year in a row, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas was home to SII's National Conference. This annual training event was held on August 14-16 and offered extensive learning opportunities in areas of client referrals, business valuation, client retention, and retirement plans, just to name a few. Attendees were joined by over 50 product sponsor companies who exhibited throughout the duration of the event.



2013 Fright for Life Blood Drive

SII Home Office associates participated in the 3rd annual Fright for Life blood drive on October 21, 2013. The 31 units of blood donated have the potential to save 114 lives. Those who participated were rewarded with a Jeans Day, and the winning team received their choice of Pumpkin or Caramel Apple Pie.



2013 Administrative Assistant Workshop
Reach the Moon

The stars aligned for a hauntingly good time at the 2013 SII/ICA Administrative Assistant Workshop. Attendees from SII and our sister firm, ICA, networked at the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton, WI October 22-24. Events included an award reception, several hands-on learning sessions, roundtable discussions, and a Halloween costume party featuring Boogie & the Yo Yo'z.



2014 National Conference
MISSION: SUCCESS!

Attendees ventured to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for special training over the course of two and a half days. For the Intelligence Briefing OSJ Training, David Loasby, SII's FVP and Chief Compliance Officer, opened the day with an overview of the industry's hot topics. The 2014 National Conference kicked off with a different approach to presenting the new Advisor Dashboard platform. Three advisors who currently have access to Advisor Dashboard shared the stage with Bob Walker, VP, NPH Project Management Group, to review the capabilities and features of this new system and how they actually apply it to their business. Valuable information continued to be shared throughout the last day. The conference ended with two inspiring speakers: Steve Farber, President of Extreme Leadership, and Joe Jordan, a best-selling author.



2014 Top Producer Conference
Surfin' to Success

Sunny, hot, beautiful California greeted hundreds of guests for our 2014 Top Producer Conference, Surfin' to Success, at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort. A tremendous turnout of 145 advisors helped make this year's event a great success. Qualifiers enjoyed an exceptional mix of educational workshops, networking opportunities, and entertaining social events while being recognized for their accomplishments in the financial services industry. The event concluded with attendees dancing the night away to the music and entertainment provided by Vic Ferrari Band.
