Medical and Dental Plans
Associates may participate in company-sponsored group medical and/or dental plans. Medical coverage is available through Blue Cross Blue Shield of MI. There are three medical plan options available: 80/20, 90/10 and High Deductible PPO plans. Dental coverage is available through Delta Dental of MI.
Vision coverage is provided through Vision Service Plan (VSP). SII pays for a core level of coverage that is available to associates and their eligible dependents. A buy-up option is available for those who wish to purchase a higher level of coverage.
Health Savings Account
An HSA is a tax-exempt savings account used for paying qualifying medical expenses. Accounts are owned by the individual, are portable and non-forfeitable. Contributions, accumulated earnings and qualifying distributions are tax-free. Carry-over of unused funds from year to year is permitted. This account requires enrollment in the High Deductible Health Plan.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
A Flexible Spending Account enables associates to pay for dependent care expenses and health care expenses not otherwise covered by the Company's health plans. Funds are allocated on a pre-tax basis.
Short-Term Disability or the Income Protection Plan (IPP) pays 100 percent of eligible earnings, based on calendar years of service, to qualified associates who are medically disabled. Benefits begin after a seven calendar day elimination period has been satisfied and may continue through the 180th day of disability. If the associate is still medically disabled after completing the calendar years of service schedule, eligible earnings are paid at 60 percent until the associate is medically released.
This benefit plan pays 60 percent of eligible earnings to qualified associates who are disabled after the 180-day elimination period.
401(k) Retirement Plan
Associates can contribute a portion of their annual salary on a pre-tax and/or post-tax basis to a wide selection of investment options covering a variety of risk profiles. Contributions may start after an associate receives their first paycheck and upon enrolling in the plan.
Jackson currently matches associates contributions dollar for dollar up to 6 percent of salary, once the associate meets eligibility criteria. The match is subject to IRS limits.
Group Term Life Insurance
Term life insurance is provided for eligible associates with coverage amounts equal to twice an associate's annual salary. The cost of this insurance is paid for by Jackson. The Company will maintain this coverage even if the associate becomes disabled and is unable to work while on a leave of absence.
The Company also provides the option of converting the policy into individual permanent coverage, should the covered associate terminate employment from the Company.
Associates may purchase most of the Company's products at a discounted rate. The discounted rate will vary according to the normal commission credited. Eligibility begins on the first day of employment and extends to both full-time and part-time associates and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children).
Annual Review & Rewards Program
SII believes in rewarding associates who excel at their job. Eligible associates will have the opportunity to participate in our annual performance review process where goals and rewards will be determined.
Jackson® Retirement Plan
Jackson National Life Insurance Company® (Home Office: Lansing, Michigan) currently contributes a portion of an associate's salary on an annual basis depending on the Company's financial results. Associates are eligible on the subsequent January 1 or July 1 following one year of service, minimum of 1,000 hours of employment and attainment of age 21.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Company has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), whose professionally trained personnel can provide short-term counseling and/or referral, and follow-up services, to associates and their immediate family members.
Associates receive nine paid holidays and two floating holidays*. Holidays include: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
*Employees are allocated 1 floating holiday during their first calendar year (if hired before Thanksgiving) and then two Floating Holidays each subsequent year.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Associates are eligible for up to 14 days of paid time off (PTO) based on their month of hire in their first calendar year of service. After the first calendar year, associates will receive 16 days with sequential increases based on continued years of service. PTO can be used for sick days, vacation days, personal days, appointments, etc.
Associate Continuing Education
The company will help defray the cost of many continuing education opportunities for associates after one year of continuous service with the company.
Dependent Tuition Program
This program pays a portion of tuition expenses (based on years of service) for associates' dependent children who are attending an accredited two-year or four-year nonprofit, private or public undergraduate college or university and are working toward a degree. To be eligible, an associate must be a full-time, regular associate with at least three years of continuous service. Other eligibility guidelines apply.
Education Matching Gift Program
The Company will match eligible associates' monetary gifts to accredited nonprofit private or public graduate and undergraduate colleges and universities. Maximum matched contribution is $2,500 per calendar year.
Paid Bereavement and Jury Duty
Regular associates are allowed time off with pay upon the death of a family member according to the company schedule.
The Company urges associates to fulfill their civic obligations and report to jury duty, or as a witness, if summoned. Associates will be compensated for time spent on witness duty as required by law and for any time spent on jury duty.
Long-Term Care Coverage
Available from UNUM for associates, spouse and parents. Portable coverage and low group rates. Guaranteed issue for associates at initial enrollment.
Stay Healthy Program
Through the SII Stay Healthy Program, associates can receive a $50 reimbursement each year for qualified health education, licensed weight loss programs or physical fitness programs.
